Our Advisors - Leveraging wisdom and know how

The Knowledge Management Institute of Canada is pleased the name the following individuals to the Institute's Advisory Council.

Each member of the Advisory Council, is a recognized leader in their respective field. They bring deep industry knowledge, subject matter expertise and experience to KMIC, playing an important, integral role in the development of the Institute, and in the realization of its vision and mission.

Over a decade as a results driven leader in the public sector, Jacob is a creative and disciplined thinker with a deep sense of purpose. Known for: taking action, decisive decisions, always being part of the solution, differentiated by not for "what" he does, but, "why" I he does it.


Paul is the former COO of the PGA of America. Paul joined the PGA as a consultant in January 1989, and was named the Association's first Chief Operating Officer in April 1990. During his PGA term, Bogin guided the operations of The PGA's Marketing, Communications and Broadcasting, Golf Properties, Tournaments, Membership Programs, Human Resources and Special Events departments. He helped guide the Association's 1998 sale of the PGA Merchandise Show and former PGA International Golf Show (now PGA Fall Expo) to Reed Exhibitions Inc., one of the world's largest trade show owners and operators. Since his retirement, Paul has served on a number of private and public Boards.
 
Tony works with senior operational managers and human resource executives in major and emerging companies and not-for-profit organizations. Develops implementation plans to help them achieve their organization strategy.  Tony's specialties Include: Compensation,employee communication, organizational change, developing business metrics, processes and related training and incentives.
Commander Larkin has over 30 years experience in leadership appointments ashore and at sea in ships and submarines of the Canadian Navy, and submarines of the Royal Navy in Great Britain.  His senior appointments ashore have included responsibility for operations planning and readiness, human resources, education and training management, and project management for Maritime Forces Pacific.  He has also held command appointments as the Captain of Her Majesty’s Canadian Ships Moresby, Protecteur, and Calgary. Kelly also served as the Chief Conservation Officer for the province of British Columbia.

Tofy was the recipient the CIHR Knowledge Translation Award in 2010. Tofy is a strong believer and advocate for multidisciplinary collaboration, Dr. Mussivand feels that knowledge sharing is the key to global competitiveness for Canada.

"Without effective knowledge exchange, mankind will stagnate" says Dr. Mussivand. "Through greater collaboration we will enhance opportunities to reduce suffering and treat disease."

 


Dru Narwani (Interim Chair)

Dru served as the President, Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Chair of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) in Thailand/Bangkok until 2000. Mr. Narwani began his banking career with CIBC on Bay Street, Toronto, and later moved on to successive senior executive roles with the British banking groups and Barclays. Mr. Narwani served as Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of SCB in Mumbai, India, having joined SCB after fourteen years with Barclays Bank in a variety of progressive positions in London, New York and Toronto. Dru continues to serve as an advisor and Director for a number of private and public company boards in Canada.


Terry Power is a professor of strategic and advanced international studies. He is a published columnist and has had published a number of well adopted texts. Power sits on a number of national boards including ; the Comprehensive Security Studies Group (CSSG) and The Academic Board of the Institute of Strategic and International Studies. He frequently undertakes consulting assignments for the public and private sectors and has been the keynote speaker at several national conferences.
