KMIC and the Electricity Sector Council of Canada Announce...The Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM) Specialist Series: Knowledge Management in the Electricity / Energy Sector – June 4 - 6, 2012

Organizations in the electricity and energy sectors are facing a number of challenges over the next 5-10 years. Challenges associated with an aging worker population and the pending loss of critical knowledge as a result of attrition; The emergence of new technologies, which will fundamentally impact workflow process across the sector; The need to attract retain and grow key talent and decrease the time to competency of new hires while maintaining high levels of safety and quality control. The need to improve operational effectiveness and productivity to ensure a continuous, cost effective supply of reliable energy to consumers, and the need to address environmental concerns by developing alternative forms of energy to supplement base power supplies.

The Energy Specialist CKM Program will focus on having participants develop solutions to these complex challenges by leveraging Electricity Sector Council research data and current best practices from sector stakeholders.

Each day of the 3-day program will also feature a presentation from a recognized industry expert.

The blended approach to program delivery will support deep level collaboration and problem solving enabling participants to take new knowledge and valuable insights back to their organizations at the conclusion of the program.

The pre-requisites for achieving CKM designation are ther successful completion of both the KM Foundations and CKP programs. Each may be taken individually and will be accredited towards certtifcation or all three programs may be completed within the three days.
