Current structures governing learning, training and re-training are insufficient to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving knowledge based economy. Traditional Colleges and Universities, while capable of delivering valuable theoretical curricula and training and learning programs, are encumbered by traditional financial and operating structures which prevent them from being agile enough to respond to the changing needs of the marketplace, industry and the learning needs of students and professionals alike – The gulf between theory and practice is continuing to widen - Training and learning programs are not keeping pace with the skills, competencies and knowledge required in the workplace.
